   » Natural Resources Wales maintain over 4000 flood risk assets that include over 500km of flood defences. We have a great opportunity in our asset performance team where you
   » will provide expert technical opinion and specialist technical engineering advice and guidance on asset management issues.
   » You will lead and manage the development of our area Capital improvements programme, taking into consideration strategic plans such as National Flood Risk management strategy, and presenting sound business cases to programme board as required.
   » You will manage asset improvement projects, and will undertake a Senior User function and supervise consultants and contractors on our engineering frameworks to ensure a positive culture of Wellbeing, Health & Safety.
   » When delivering solutions you will need to consider the principles of SMNR and Well-being of Future Generations Act are considered in all your decision making.
Qualifications and Skills
   » Educated to degree level in Civil Engineering or equivalent in a scientific subject.
   » Coaching and mentoring skills.
   » Member or working towards membership of a significant professional body such as Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE)/Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).
   » Significant practice in flood risk management activities and broad knowledge of wider approaches to river and coastal asset management.
   » A sound, broad civils background and familiarisation of Wellbeing, Health and Safety including CDM Regulations, and Environmental issues.
   » Knowledge of the requirements of the Reservoirs Act 1975.
   » Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to present complex information in a professional manner.
   » Excellent project management and delivery skills, adopting principles of PRINCE2.
   » Full UK driving licence.
