We are now looking for two Site Operatives to join our Carmarthen campus on a full time, permanent basis.
- THE function -
You will be responsible for maintaining the security of UWTSD premises and the environment. In addition, depending on Rota and need, you will be expected to carry out caretaking tasks, security, and minor maintenance, as well as other general tasks required by the function. General caretaking tasks such as shifting furniture and packages, litter picking, leaf clearance and maintaining the general cleanliness of the University environment will also be an integral part of the function. You will be required to travel between university locations using University Vehicles as required.

- ABOUT YOU -
To be considered as a Site Operative, you will need:
   » Good general level of education
   » Valid full driving license - due to the base being Carmarthen but the work being across the sites, the individual must be able to drive between Carmarthen and Lampeter and Swansea. These posts have to carry equipment between these sites and there is no regular public transport that would be appropriate.
   » availability to undertake First Aid at Work
   » practice in providing grounds and minor maintenance service
   » capability to identify potential risks and undertake risk assessments, provide excellent customer service, demonstrate effective organisational expertise, apply attention to detail and meet tight deadlines
   » Good interpersonal and communication expertise with the capability to communicate effectively at all levels
   » Good IT expertise (training will be given on University systems)
   » Demonstrates self-motivation and capability to work unsupervised
   » Able to work as part of a team and in partnership with others
   » Demonstrates appropriate confidentiality
   » Able and prepared to work flexibly, including travel between campuses
It would also be beneficial if you had:
   » Valid first aid certification
   » Fire Marshall Level 2
   » Previous practice of working in Higher Education
   » practice of providing security services in a similar environment and of switch board service
   » knowledge of a Planned Preventative Maintenance
   » capability to communicate through the medium of Welsh - oral and written
