Job Offer: Postdoctoral Research Fellow (IPHW and Provide):Job description:Job location: Colchester The Institute of Public Health and Wellbeing seeks to appoint a full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow to start October 2022, or soon thereafter, for a period of three years. This fellowship is funded by Provide (an Essex-located community Interest company -https://www.provide.org.uk/) to support the Institute's work in the areas of obesity, menopauseresearch and/or the use of technology in care home settings. The research fellowship will be hosted at the Institute of Public Health and Wellbeing at the University of Essex, with regular engagement with Provide. The research projects will be developed in collaboration with the School of Health and Social Care, to support and expand their education and research into obesity, menopause and perimenopause, and/or technology in a health and social care context. We are seeking for a postdoctoral research fellow to work with Provide on research projects focusing on either: » Overweight and obesity - with special focus (but not limited to) on the effectiveness of weight management interventions for adults and children to inform the design and specification of future weight management services » Perimenopause and menopause - with special focus (but not limited to) on the analysis of consciousness, self-management, and new service design for health care workers. » Use of technology in care home settings to reduce needs for resources and improve service efficiency tasks of the function » Undertake Foundational and Applied Research » Contribute to Public Engagement & Impact » Develop Interdisciplinary Collaborations within the Institute » Apply for Grants » To undertake teaching as appropriate to the level of post » Support the Research Culture of the Institute and Provide expertise and Qualifications required The prosperous candidate will have a publications record appropriate for their practice and will be able to demonstrate evidence of potential to develop an internationally leading profile in the field. candidates are required to have a PhD in a significant discipline or should be close to the completion of a PhD (writing up or under examination). We expect the methodological focus to be discipline or domain significant. Excellent communication and presentation expertise, strong data science expertise and practice, along with the potential to develop innovative research within your field are all essential for this post. expertise of or practice in obesity/ weight management research, menopause research and/or research into the use of technology in a care home setting are strongly desirable, as is evidence of prosperous participation and contribution to interdisciplinary and national/international collaborations. practice of interacting with non-academic sectors through impact activities or public engagement is also required.
