Job Offer: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Hair, Make-up and Prosthetics for Stage and Screen:Job description:Job location: Northampton Job location: Waterside Campus Documents: JD - LSL Hair Make Up Prosthetics Stage and Screen.pdf(PDF, 214.29kb) About the Job (Part time 0.6 FTE 22.2 hours) Interview date: 14 September 2022 The University of Northampton is seeking an inspirational Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Hair, Make Up and Prosthetics for Stage and Screen with an emphasis on student-focused teaching and high impact research. You should have an broad contacts book having worked in the industry, and an enthusiasm to pass on your subject expertise to students whether this be from a background of working in theatre, film, or TV. The prosperous applicant will teach and lead some of the practical modules on a recently validated degree in purpose-built studio spaces located within the University's Creative Hub on the Waterside Campus. You will be able to deploy specialist skills to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in an innovative way to meet the demands of the sector, as well as providing super-supportive personal tuition. The prosperous applicant will be expected to help market the degree which may include occasional weekend and evening cover for recruitment events. About you You will have a proven background in the practical application of Hair and Make-Up and Prosthetics for Stage and Screen. You will have the capability to produce and deliver a high-quality teaching and learning practice and be ICT literate. A related first degree is essential. A track record of effective partnership working (internal and external), to develop entrepreneurial and employcapability opportunities in related Media and Hair and Make Upindustry settings would be advantageous. As an academic, you will also be expected to contribute to the research and scholarly output of the subject area and work collegiately with other researchers within the Faculty and wider University. Research and scholarship are supported through our research centres, mentor scheme, and 25 days of leave for scholarly activity. Qualifications Essential: » Degree qualification or equivalent in significant subject » Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or availability to obtain within an agreed timescale Desirable: » Master's degree in significant subject » Doctorate in significant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion » significant professional qualification Right to Work All candidates will be asked to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK at interview.
