Offer: Postdoctoral Research Associate:Job description:Job location: Cornwall Faculty of Health and Life Sciences This full-time, NERC funded post is available from 1 October 2022 on a fixed term basis until 31 October 2023. The post The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Ocean Modelling as part of the project entitled Risk and Solution: Marine Plastics in Southeast Asia (RaSP-SEA). The prosperous applicant will study the transport dynamics and fate of plastic in Southeast Asia. The post will include configuring and running offline Langragian model simulations to investigate connectivity in the region and the dominant controls on particle transport. This work will involve working with a range of model inputs, including global re-analysis products and high-resolution models of coastal ocean circulation dynamics in Southeast Asia. About you The prosperous applicant will be able to present information on research progress and results, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies. candidates will possess a significant PhD (or be nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/practice in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. candidates will have a good knowledge of programming languages and will have prior practice of running and knowledge the outputs of particle tracking models.
