The Department of Learning and Teaching Enhancement (DLTE) work in collaboration with academic colleagues, students and professional services to inspire and support the development of learning and teaching practices across Edinburgh Napier University, with the intention of enhancing the student learning practice.
We seek to model good practice, supportively creating space for staff to reflect on and develop their pedagogic knowledge and skill base to create curricula which maximise student engagement and learning.
As part of our continuing efforts to enable staff and students to thrive, we are currently recruiting a Quality & Standards Manager to lead, coordinate and support agreed portfolios of work and facilitate the implementation of team operational priorities.
The function:
this function will provide you with an excellent opportunity to focus on continual improvement to the student practice and allow you to really get involved in shaping policy within and beyond the University.
You will be in a prime position to use your broad practice of working with administration management in a Higher Education setting, to lead, manage and maintain oversight of the application of our Academic Regulations and Quality Framework.
Furthermore, the practice that you bring in providing informed advice, guidance and appropriate solutions to academic and professional service colleagues and student representatives, will allow you to become a named point of contact for an agreed number of Schools on academic quality related matters connected with Curriculum Management.
In essence, you will be a person of trust and ambassador of good practice, supporting the University's strategy to deliver taught provision in partnership with others and providing professional administrative support as Clerk to University-level committees.
Your clear knowledge and working knowledge of the academic quality agenda across the UK higher education sector will be key to this, and we see the function as a natural progression for you should your practice lie within Quality Assurance or academic administrative support in a higher education setting.

What we will need from you:
   » A bachelor's degree with honours or an equivalent first degree (or equivalent practice)
   » broad practice working in administration management within the UK higher education sector
   » A clear knowledge and working knowledge of the academic quality agenda across the UK higher education sector
   » practice in preparing effective policies, regulations and/or procedures
   » Highly developed inter-personal and communication expertise, including an capability to present and defend an argument in a collegiate and non-judgemental manner
   » availability and confidence to travel nationally and internationally to represent the University on quality-related business.
