The Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries at the University of Portsmouth invites applications for a Senior Lecturer in the School of Film, Media and Communication. We are pursuing a candidate with a track record of research and/or innovation who is able to contribute to both our practical and our theoretical courses across foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In particular, We are seeking for candidates able to contribute to: » Filmmaking and media practice research (for example through the Research Excellence and/or expertise Transfer Frameworks) » PhD supervision for practice research. In addition the prosperous candidate should be able to contribute to the development of one or more of the following teaching areas: » Art Direction/Production Design for film and/or television. » Location sound recording practices » Film and TV marketing, curation/programming and distribution The prosperous candidate will be joining a highly prosperous School delivering courses with Screen expertise and NCTJ accreditation and having a strong established inter-disciplinary research culture with staff entered into a range of REF Units of Assessment including UoA 25, UoA 27 and UoA 33. Academic and professional practice is essential together with a significant postgraduate degree. The capability to work as part of a team and flexible working patterns are also essential.
