About the function
You will join a team of enthusiastic, committed and friendly staff who deliver social work, youthwork, and child and adult health courses at the University of Derby. You'll be located in the School of Allied Health and Social Care, one of three subject areas within the College of Health Psychology and Social Care. However, you will also be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues across different disciplines within the College. The subject area offers degree and masters programmes across the discipline of social and community studies. The College of Health, Psychology and Social Care upholds the overall mission of the University by providing high quality, accessible learning opportunities; promoting academic enquiry and the advancement of expertise using a variety of methods of delivery. We are committed to the Widening Participation agenda and have a good record of meeting the needs of local stakeholders. User and carer involvement in course development and delivery is an essential aspect of our work.
You will be innovative and creative in the function and will contribute to enhancing the quality of health and social care education, as well as taking forward the research and scholarship agenda. It is extremely important that our prosperous candidate not only understand the student practice, but that they genuinely enjoy making a positive impact for them both in and out of classes. You will also contribute to programme delivery across the suite of programmes offered by the Discipline from Degree level to Masters' as appropriate. You'll have a strong background in the field of child health and wellbeing practice particularly and will focus on delivering an excellent student practice.
