The function The post-holder will join a team in presenting and producing innovative learning resources across our Environmental Studies, Human Geography and Social Sciences curricula, focusing on environmental concerns and policy in the School of Social Sciences and Global Studies. In addition to contributing to teaching within the Geography Department you will be expected to conduct independent research (appropriate for the level of appointment) and to contribute to the Open University's REF submission. You will also undertake research that aligns with the School's research priorities in Environmental Studies and Geography. expertise and practice You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in Geography, Environmental Studies, or a closely related subject; evidence of proven teaching capability and a strong track record of prosperous research; high-quality publications appropriate for inclusion in the REF; excellent communication expertise, both oral and written in a variety of contexts; capability to produce written and online teaching material for students appropriate to their level of study; and an enthusiasm for supporting distance learning and the application of new technologies to teaching and supporting students.
