Listing description The function A Research Technician is required to support the delivery of in vivo studies for the Wolfson Childhood Cancer Research Centre with the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Working with academic leads and researchers they will create mouse models to understand the biology of various cancer types and test potential new therapies. You will perform in vivo techniques and imaging procedures and be responsible for preparing, storing, and analysing samples. Basic laboratory expertise and molecular biology techniques including cell culture, aseptic technique, PCR, and flow cytometry are required. In addition, the maintenance of accurate records, laboratory equipment and stocks. Full training will be given. A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a significant science subject, good communication and organisation expertise are required for this post. In addition, the capability to work independently and have capacity for original thought are essential for this function. You will be hard working and enthusiastic with excellent oral communication and written expertise. You will be keen to lgain new techniques and have good IT and computing expertise.
