This is an exciting opportunity for a developmental psychologist at the heart of a vibrant department with strong research and teaching activity in Developmental Psychology. You'll join a close-knit group of academics who are behind a varied programme of research-led teaching including our internationally attractive MSc in Child Psychology.
Your main responsibilities will be to provide teaching, assessment, and student support on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in developmental psychology and qualitative methods. Research is, naturally, a key part of our make-up and you will supervise student research projects and may undertake your own research challenges. You'll use a variety of technologies and approaches to deliver a vibrant education to your students that can be translated into real-world skills.
The Person
You will hold or be working towards a doctorate in the field of developmental psychology.
On a personal level, going above and beyond to deliver exceptional teaching and support to our students will be your core motivation. You will use your practice of working in developmental psychology to promote integrated professional practice across everything you do, imparting practical expertise to students that they will take with them in their future careers.
Constantly seeking to improve, you'll scrutinise your own work, build private and public sector networks, and work collaboratively to enhance the faculty's reputation in higher education and occupational circles.
The Faculty
The Faculty of Business and Social Sciences combines Kingston Business School and the School of Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences. Driven by a forward-thinking approach, the faculty is dynamic, innovative and ambitious.
School of Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences
The School of Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences offers a range of courses in politics, economics, human rights, international relations, law, psychology and criminology. Professional bodies, including the British Psychological Society (BPS), the Bar Standards Board (BSB) and the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), recognise and accredit our courses.
