The function
Working within the Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care and Education (HSSCE), you will provide practical and operational support of faculty laboratories, specifically in the field of Sports Science, Physiology and Biomechanics.
You will contribute to the learning practice of students by providing guidance on the use of resources and promoting an excellent knowledge of laboratory practices and techniques. You will also ensure that laboratories and the facilities within them are maintained in good order in conformity with health & safety legislation and manufacturer's operation and maintenance instructions.
The Person
You will need to be a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual, ready to contribute to the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the faculty's laboratories and to work with students, academics, and clients. You will be qualified to degree/postgraduate level in physiology or a related subject area. You will possess an excellent working knowledge of exercise physiology and typical physiological tests used in sport and exercise science. A current first aid or basic life support qualification from a recognised organisation is also required, and BASES Accreditation is desirable.
