Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and imaginative Gateway Adviser to work in our busy and vibrant Library & Student Services dept which provides support for students and staff on the Epsom campus. The post provides first line help for students and staff in gaining access to a range of specialist support services as well as locating and using the library resources, facilities, equipment and technology. You should have practice of working in a customer facing environment, preferably a busy academic library or support services environment. Effective interpersonal and communication expertise and excellent customer service expertise are essential. You should also have practice of automated library systems or similar databases and be a competent and confident IT user. expertise of online information would be an advantage. We are seeking for someone who will take ownership of enquiries and respond effectively under pressure, who demonstrates initiative and flexibility and contacts effectively with staff, students and colleagues. Equally important are the capability to innovate and collaborate as part of a team, use initiative, demonstrate flexibility and display attention to detail. Being prepared to use new expertise and undertake staff development as appropriate, especially in the area of new technology are essential.
