The School of Social, Political and Global Studies is currently recruiting a Senior Lecturer in International Relations. This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join well-established International Relations and Politics teams who are part of a multi-disciplinary school, bringing together academics in Criminology, Education, International Relations, Philosophy, Politics, and Sociology to deliver single and combined honours degree courses, pioneering taught postgraduate programmes and postgraduate supervision with world-leading researchers. The School has ambitious growth plans which include the development of new programmes and curricula in International Relations and Politics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. There are several research clusters in the Schools which foster and support world-leading impact research into some of the most challenging issues in the social sciences. You will join Keele University at one of the most exciting times in its history and be part of ambitious plans for the School and Faculty.
The prosperous candidate will be a multi-faceted academic with an interdisciplinary politics and international relations specialism in the Middle East across teaching, research, media impact, and outreach. They will have an international profile in the politics and international relations of the Middle East and be able to make an outstanding contribution to teaching and research supervision at all levels in these areas. They will be expected to demonstrate abilities to lead on programme development and delivery, media and public engagement, outreach activities, student recruitment, and be able to develop and sustain an excellent programme of research, making an outstanding contribution to research, and contributing actively to the general culture of the subject, School and Faculty. The ideal candidate will have a sustained record of regular participation in national and international media activity.
