Offer: Associate Professor in Sociology:Job description:Job location: Nottingham Sociology is one of four academic disciplines within the School of Sociology and Social Policy, the others being criminology, public & social policy, and social work. The disciplines share a core commitment to social justice, and the interplay between disciplines creates a vibrant environment for robust academic debate, research innovation and the delivery of high-quality research-led teaching. The School, and Sociology, is going through a period of development and We are seeking for an enthusiastic and practiced scholar to join the Sociology team. The prosperous applicant will have a proven track record of personal achievement and collegial leadership abilities across research, teaching, and academic administration/leadership abilities/management. You will be expected to make a significant contribution to research, teaching and leadership abilities within the Sociology team and across the School. This will include: involvement in planning and delivering the high-quality education we provide for both UG and PGT students; involvement in high-quality research, including securing external research funding, publishing in esteemed outlets, and contributing to expertise exchange and research impact activities; involvement in leadership abilities and management, including providing support to early career academics, serving on School and Faculty committees, and leading on initiatives designed to support identified priorities. You will be expected to have an impact on the direction, strategy, objectives, and performance of the University by influencing and shaping the available resources as appropriate to meet the current and future needs of the University of Nottingham, the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the School of Sociology & Social Policy.
