Job Opportunity: Lecturer in Building Information Modelling and Management:Job description:Job location: Kingston upon Thames The function This is an opportunity to contribute to a number of modules across Levels 4-7 in the suite of Construction, Surveying and Civil Engineering taught programmes, particularly in the field of building information modelling and management, with emphasis on core subjects, BIM and other digital technologies, (e.g., virtual reality, sustainable and carbon reduction technologies, etc.) and project management and practice. The appointed person will have a PhD and will require a expertise of the application of BIM to the built environment and competency in using proprietary BIM software applications. The prosperous post-holder will engage actively in applied research in a field related to at least one of the subject areas taught on the degrees within the Department and will contribute to the University's objective of securing an outstanding reputation for research-informed learning, innovation and integrated academic practice. The Person You'll come to us with a first degree in significant subjects within built environment or equivalent at 2.1 or above together with a PhD in a significant field or equivalent professional qualification. You will also have or be working towards a PGCHE, UKPSF2 or equivalent. Professional qualifications would be highly desirable. You will also bring practice of working on a research project, contributing to research groups and publishing your research in peer-reviewed journals. You will provide high-quality practice-focused teaching, participate in research project supervision, enterprise and/or professional activity to the benefit of a diverse range of students and colleagues, and also act as lead manager for PhD students. You will also provide skills and access external networks using a developing national reputation in the area of activity. The prosperous candidate may concentrate on a combination of teaching, research, enterprise and/or professional activity. The Faculty We have a dedicated campus for our aerospace, aircraft and mechanical engineering courses at Roehampton Vale, on the outskirts of Kingston town centre and close to Richmond Park.
