This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join Keele University's Student Services Directorate. Student Services and the support we provide is crucial to the wellbeing of our students and contributing to the success of the University. We strive to enhance the quality of the student practice and support recruitment, progression, retention and attainment. Through the support provided, students are able to develop strategies to keep themselves well, build support networks and develop key expertise to support their professional and personal development.
The Student Discipline agent is a crucial function within the Residence Life Team at Keele. The Student Discipline agent acts as an Investigation agent for the university, investigating a range of reports made by students and staff, but with a focus on cases of sexual misconduct, gender located violence, harassment and protected class discrimination. The function will bring opportunities to work with teams across Keele University either through investigations or by taking part in projects and campaigns to pro-actively work with students, such as Sexual Violence consciousness Week, drug and alcohol impact work and our #neverok campaign.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of disciplinary regulations and procedures in a university setting and be familiar with investigation processes including conducting disciplinary interviews and report writing. An capability to build connections with people is also important for this function due to the range of people that the Student Discipline agent works with - students and staff alike. An knowledge of sexual violence and misconduct in higher education would be an advantage as we work to improve our ways of working in this are.
