We are particularly interested in researchers with strong track record or demonstrable potential in topics related to deep learning, reinforcement learning or natural language processing. Visual Computing The Visual Computing group is a key strength of the department, is highly regarded internationally and very prosperous in research publication and grant capture, with a focus on computer vision and computer graphics and cross over into machine learning, human-computer interaction and applications in entertainment and healthcare. The nature of our research and our strong industry connections mean that the group has clear routes to impact. The group also provides research-led undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Artificial Intelligence There are vibrant interactions between the AI group and other groups in the Department, including Visual Computing and Human-Computer Interaction as well as a wide variety of interdisciplinary research projects and industrial collaborations. Areas such as deep learning, reinforcement learning and natural language processing are key strengths of the group and we wish to develop these strengths even further.
