Summary of Job Purpose and Principal tasks

We are pursuing an exceptional candidate with skills in Human Resource Management to enhance the teaching and research in Marketing & Management within the School of Business. The appointee will be expected to strengthen our academic leadership abilities capacity within Business. In addition to pursuing research of international standards the prosperous candidate would be expected to contribute to the teaching of our Undergraduate, MSc and research degree (Professional Doctorate and DBA) programmes.

We seek an individual with a track record of excellent and impactful research, underpinned by external grant funding, evidenced by regular publication of research papers in top-ranked journals and a strategy for knowledge exchange. Moreover, candidates will be expected to identify market-led opportunities for new module and programme development.

In line with University expectations, Readers / Professors should be prominent at all levels of teaching across the undergraduate and postgraduate spectrum, making a particular contribution to our taught postgraduate programmes and the supervision of PhD students.

Summary of Skills, practice and Qualifications

Essential for all grades:

- PhD in a significant subject;
- A thorough knowledge of Institutional management systems and the higher education sector, including equal opportunities issues;
- practice of developing, launching and managing pedagogically and financially prosperous programmes at undergraduate and post graduate levels
- Clear evidence of excellence in University learning and teaching e.g., curriculum and module design and leadership abilities, practice of assessing work and providing feedback to students;
- practice of supervision of undergraduate and/or taught postgraduate student projects;
- practice of prosperous supervision of PhD and Professional Doctorate research students;
- capability to mentor colleagues and advise on personal development;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Evidence of capability and availability to work collaboratively with others;
- Evidence of effective team membership;
- capability to prioritise and balance competing demands;
- Commitment to act in conformity with and promote the University's values.
- Strong track record of published research outputs in leading, high impact journals, books and/or book chapters
- prosperous track record of research grant capture that contributes to knowledge exchange and impact.
- Evidence of Knowledge Exchange and Impact (KEI)

Essential for Grade 10 (in addition to above):

- A sustained record of effective leadership abilities in research and teaching relating to your discipline;
- Lead prosperous bids for research/scholarship, consultancy and other additional funds;
- Appetite for international engagement in terms of teaching and / or research collaborations.
