The Human Resources Division:

The function:
We have two full time HR Business Partner (HRBP) opportunities within the heart of the HR Division at the University of Cambridge. As HRBP for the School of the Physical Sciences (SPS), you will have responsibility for pro-actively supporting staff and managers in the School across the whole spectrum of HR practice. You will develop an in-depth expertise of the School, which you will use to partner with key stakeholders within SPS to support the delivery of the School's strategic people goals. In this busy and exciting function, we will look to you to develop and deliver innovative best practice techniques ensuring all staff are supported during their University career. You will:
   » Act as a central point of contact for a range of HR issues within the School, providing best practice advice, guidance and solutions in line with legal or organisational policies and procedures;
   » Implement effective organisational change management and casework support to meet the needs of the School;
   » Proactively identify service improvements that meet future service needs, influencing and persuading colleagues are required;
   » Lead individual tasks and contribute toward wider scale projects to deliver Divisional and organisational objectives.
   » Coach and facilitate the acquisition and development of expertise and expertise in others (managers and colleagues) so that they are better equipped to be self-reliant in dealing with people issues.
What you will need:
You will join us with:
   » A graduate level education and membership of the CIPD (or equivalent practice);
   » Significant practice in either a generalist or specialist HR function, with operational exposure to employment law, case management and organisational change management;
   » practice of advising and influencing senior managers on HR issues;
   » A positive and flexible approach to problem solving at a strategic and operational level;
   » The capability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels, with good written and verbal communications expertise;
   » practice of project planning and management methodology;
   » Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation expertise, with practice of liaising with both internal and external customers;
   » Strong analytical expertise and the capability to produce and present clearly articulated, well structured, concise reports;
