The University has a distinctive, employcapability-focused educational offer and works closely with employers to address the expertise needs of today's workforce.Applications are invited for the following post: Lay Chaplain Hours of Work: Full-time - 35 hours per week Contract type: Fixed Term for 12 months income: The starting income will be from £28,762 up to £31,411 per annum in Grade 6a, depending on qualifications and practice The postholder will be responsible for supporting and developing the Catholic identity and ethos of the University. They will play a significant and highly visible function in the day-to-day Christian life of the University Chaplaincy and in the overall Leeds Trinity community. Responsibilities will be centred around building community for all students, engaging in outreach and social action initiatives, and encouraging prayer, worship, and faith exploration on campus. The prosperous candidate will be a person who can support, devise, develop and promote a wide variety of Chaplaincy activities which appeals to students studying at Leeds Trinity and the staff and wider community of the University. candidates should have a good expertise of the teaching of the Catholic Church, a expertise of current working practices for celebrating Masses and liturgies, and a confidence in sharing their own faith with others. This should be combined with practice of working with people in a Catholic or Christian context and practice of both working independently and part of a team, particularly with regard to organising and running events. High levels of personal integrity and well-developed communication, organisational and administrative expertise are essential. The postholder will be required to work such hours as are necessary subject to a minimum of 35 hours per week and ensure that evenings and weekends are appropriately resourced by the Chaplaincy Team.
