Offer: Lecturer- BA (Hons) Textile Design:Job description:Job location: Hereford Hours: 0.2 FTE Hereford College of Arts (HCA) is a dedicated arts college with a specialist focus on art, media, design, popular music and performing arts.Our dynamic creative community offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees alongside a range of further education and short course programmes. Located in Hereford, we enjoy all the advantages of a compact, historic city set in the midst of exceptional countryside, an area rich in cultural activity, enterprise, and innovation. The College is proud of its history and track-record but now has an ambitious strategy to grow in scale and develop around curriculum, community, creative spaces and places, and student careers and enterprise to become a truly exceptional centre for modern creative education - rooted in place, connected to the world. The College seeks to appoint highly creative and committed individual to join the Textile Design course team. The BA (Hons) degree explores a broad knowledge of textiles through materials and processes, guiding our students toward exciting and diverse functions within the industry. With a renewed focus on innovation, collaboration and making, the course is looking to recruit a team member with professional practice in one or more of the textiles specialisms provided by the course - Print, Knit, Weave or Mixed Media. A focus on printed (screen & digital) textiles, knitted textiles or future technologies would be a bonus. The prosperous candidate will be expected to contribute to developing the profile of the course and to delivering ambitious professional results. It is also a requirement that the candidate will be a demonstrably excellent and innovative lecturer with practice of working within Higher Education and teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level. The posts include the management, co-ordination and delivery of Textile Design modules on the course as well as supporting the enhancement of the student practice. A postgraduate teaching qualification is desirable, as is Fellowship of the HEA.
