We are seeking for an practiced Communications & Marketing Manager to lead and implement the Bayes Centre communications and marketing strategy, lead the Communications & Marketing Team, coordinate key stakeholder relationships across the institution, and contact closely with members, partners and collaborators to present a consistent and positive profile to the broad range of collaborating industry, public sector and academic stakeholders.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Bayes Centre team, representing the College as part of the University wide DDI programme. The prosperous candidate will need to be people focussed and resilient, prepared to influence and engage with colleagues to deliver an optimum team performance. The post-holder will be able to manage competing priorities and will play an important function in the implementation and coordination of a cohesive communications culture across the Bayes Centre team and in line with University and industry expectations.
The postholder will provide advice and expert guidance to the Centre Director, Chief Operating agent, Head of Professional Services and wider Bayes Executive Group, working collaboratively with colleagues to embed the Bayes Centre at the heart of the University's data science and industry liaison strategy and objectives.

You will need to comfortable and effective working as part of a team and independently. The Bayes Centre is a multi-occupancy building with around 550 academic, research, industry and professional services staff, from across the institution and representing lease paying commercial partners. We support the wider contribution to the University's Data Driven Innovation Programme.
Your expertise and attributes for success:
   » Professionally qualified and/or significant degree, plus significant hands-on practice in communications, publications, journalism and/or marketing OR Substantial vocational practice in the field of marketing, communications or journalism demonstrating development through involvement in a series of progressively more demanding work/functions.
   » A confident user of IT, website content management systems, (e.g. Drupal), SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. practice with design software, such as Adobe Creative cloud.
   » Strong line management expertise and a record of managing, coaching, mentoring and developing staff.
   » Excellence in communications expertise, most likely demonstrated by practice in the digital communications field, and considerable practice in a marketing and/or communications environment.
   » The clear capability to identify and promote the appropriate key messages in an institution with multiple messages and audiences, including technical issues to non-specialist audiences.
