Job Offer: Research Fellow:Job description:Job location: Edinburgh Fixed term, to 30 September 2027 initially Full time, 35 hours per week We are seeking for a postdoctoral research fellow with skills in the field of translational cardiovascular research to join our laboratory in the Centre for Cardiovascular Science at the University of Edinburgh, BioQuarter Campus. This is a full-time, campus-located position to 30 September 2027. The Opportunity: We are pleased to advertise the opportunity for a postdoctoral research fellow with a passion for cardiovascular research to join our team in the vibrant research community at the BioQuarter Campus of the University of Edinburgh. The project is joint funded by the British Heart Foundation, Dutch Heart Foundation and the German Centre for Cardiovascular Research. As such, the prosperous candidate would have the opportunity to visit the laboratories of collaborators in Maastricht and in Munich within this 4-year project. The ?MegaCardiocyte? consortium aims to understand how endothelial cells in the coronary microvasculature interact with platelets in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. Your skills and attributes for success: » In vivo skills using mouse models of cardiovascular disease » An interest in developing skills in single cell/nuclei RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics analyses » A solid portfolio of wet laboratory skills including flow cytometry and cell culture » A background in research in the field of cardiovascular disease As part of this application you are required to submit a document of no more than one page detailing how you meet each of the essential criteria as outlined on the job description.
