Purpose of the function
This is an exciting opportunity for a Health Economist to join the Policy and International Health World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre (CC) on Investment for Health and Well-being Directorate?in?Public Health Wales?responsible for delivering innovative platforms, research and tools supporting population health,?wellbeing?and equity. The post holder will?provide?advice and leadership abilities on the design and analysis of complex public health data and economics programmes and projects.

Key responsibilities of the function
The main tasks of the function will involve planning and undertaking Health Economics analysis as part of public health programmes and projects. It is expected that the post holder will develop the area of work through supporting the development of grant applications to national and international awarding bodies.?
The post holder will work in partnership with colleagues and external partners to design and conduct health economics analysis, research and evaluation to improve knowledge of the public health impacts, effectiveness and/or cost-benefit of policies and interventions. The post holder will participate in dissemination of the findings through presentations, peer reviewed publications, reports and policy dialogues and be encouraged to develop links with academic public health teams to develop joint projects and will provide advice and support to others in modelling design, conduct and analysis.?
The capability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
