About the Post
The function holder will be expected to lead and develop the University's approach to fundraising, delivering on earnings targets as agreed with the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Business and Entrepreneurship and the Executive of the University. The individual will have responsibility for a personal portfolio of High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs) identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding philanthropic gifts from this group.
The individual will make a significant contribution to the University fundraising strategy and to the planning and executing of the university's first institution-wide fundraising campaign.
Success will be measured by the amount of money raised in cash received and in secured gifts (pledges), the numbers and diversity of donors to the University, and how the engagement activity contributes to the strategy and University goals more widely.
About the Team
The function sits within the Directorate of Marketing, Communications & International and plays a key function in delivery of the University's ambitious growth strategy. The Directorate provides professional leadership abilities, advice, and services to colleagues across the University, ensuring that all activities are evidence located and focused on achieving clear business objectives.?
Fundraising and philanthropy is a relatively new area of our business. The postholder will be expected to help grow and develop our approach to fundraising and philanthropic giving over a period of time.
Elsewhere in the Directorate, the Communications section has responsibility for the areas of press and media relations, reputation management, internal communications, events, website development and management, CRM development and management, publications, design, and social media. The International section is responsible for international strategy and planning, international student recruitment, international campaigns, UKVI compliance, agent management and international events. Marketing is responsible for marketing strategy and planning, campaign development, market insight and development, UK student recruitment, admissions.
