The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world's leading public health universities. Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of expertise into policy and practice.
We are pursuing to appoint an Associate Professor in Health Economics to work across three projects focusing on economic evaluation and cost estimation for health-related services. The postholder's function will include managing and conducting cost data collection and cost-effectiveness analysis for harm reduction strategies for people who misuse drugs in the UK, and co-leading a project focused on data analysis to estimate cost functions for TB and HIV services globally.
The prosperous applicant will have a PhD in health economics, skills in economic evaluation and cost function estimation, and sufficient significant practice in the subject areas of TB/HIV and harm reduction. Further particulars are included in the attached job description.
The post is part-time 14 hours per week, 0.4 FTE and fixed-term until November 2025. The post is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and is available from 1stApril 2024.
The income will be on the Academic Pathway income scale Grade 8 in the range £62,028 - £71,192 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary ?Wellbeing Days?. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is located in London at LSHTM.
