The Global Cybersecurity Capacity Centre (GCSCC) at the Department of Computer Science is looking to employ a Postdoctoral Researcher to work within an interdisciplinary team on cybersecurity capacity-building. Primarily funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, the GCSCC is a programme of the Oxford Martin School, which specialises in supporting interdisciplinary research communities working to address the most pressing global challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
The prosperous candidate will work under the direction of the Director of the GCSCC, Professor Sadie Creese, and the supervision of Professor Michael Goldsmith, with the guidance of other senior academics and cybersecurity professionals who form the leadership abilities (the Technical Board) of the GCSCC.
The key focus of this function will be to support the research programme of the GCSCC. The prosperous candidate will be located in the Department of Computer Science Global Cybersecurity Capacity Centre. The post holder will be responsible for working to execute the research of the centre alongside other researchers and under the guidance of the Technical Board.
Candidates would ideally be practiced in a cybersecurity-significant field (for example, computer science, international relations, economics, political science, social or physical sciences, philosophy, cognitive or social psychology, law, anthropology, development or sociology), have practice of working in a research function (or industry equivalent).
Candidates will be considered with strong potential and commitment who are seeking an opportunity for early research practice, for which an initial appointment would be at Grade 6 with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly. This would be discussed with candidates at interview/appointment where appropriate.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Wednesday, 17th April 2024. Interviews are expected to be held in April or in early May.
