As a Literacy and Basic expertise Instructor/Caseworker at the MSC you will be responsible for:
· Adult literacy instruction and basic computer and mobile device expertise upgrading to students in a classroom environment
· Intake and assessment of Adult Literacy & Essential expertise students.
· Monitor and support students' progress and complete connected documentation.
· Develop training/lesson plans and administer learning activities.
· Address volunteer tutor and student inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
· Monitor and achieve monthly Ministry targets connected with Core Measures and implement significant strategies to ensure target success.
· Assist with recruitment and training of potential volunteer tutors.
· Monitor and support volunteer tutors and tutor/student matches.
· Data entry of client information and maintenance of client files in a Case Management system
· Develop resources and participate in promotional events for public consciousness of the Adult Literacy & Basic expertise program.
· Perform clerical tasks, statistical reporting, case notes and data entry tasks connected with the literacy program.
· Provide a positive and professional image optimizing service delivery satisfaction, referring inquiries to the appropriate individual, department, service, or organization, as per the established procedure.
What you bring:
· significant formal education/training or practice in the field of literacy or education with youth/adults
· expertise of Adult Learning Principles
· Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and team-building expertise.
· Self-directed and highly capable of working unsupervised.
· Excellent Computer and Mobile Device expertise
· Adherence to confidentiality and professional code of conduct
· Passion for continuous professional development
