The University of Buckingham is unique. Founded in 1976, it is the only independent, not-for-profit university in the UK to have a Royal Charter, and this year, it was shortlisted as a ?University of the Year? in the Sunday Times ?Good University Guide 2023'. Buckingham is proud to have been at or near the top of the National Student Survey (NSS) in student satisfaction since 2006. Indeed, the Business School is joint first in the UK for Academic Support and is in the Top 10 for Business Teaching. Buckingham is in the Top 10 for Student Satisfaction in ?The Good University Guide 2023?. The University is Silver TEF rated.
We want to appoint a Lecturer in Business and Management. Teaching allocation will likely include Business, Management, Enterprise, and Marketing modules. The post-holder will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervise dissertations.
The prosperous candidate may be expected to take either an active research function or an administrative function. The exact details will be discussed at the time of the offer.
The person appointed must be able to work effectively as part of a small team and will be committed to a student-focused approach to university life and teaching. The Business School prides itself on its student-friendly approach, and the post-holder must enjoy working with students both in class and as a personal tutor. We teach in small groups, with many class sizes of no more than 10 students. Furthermore, most of our degrees are accelerated programmes delivered in two years.
