Who we are
Metanoia Institute is an established charity that provides sector-leading education and training in psychological therapies to almost 2000 students in Ealing, London. Founded in 1983, it was one of the first institutions to offer humanistic programs in psychotherapy and counselling in the UK. Since 1994, it has had a collaborative relationship with Middlesex University, and now it is preparing to take overall responsibility for its programs and apply for Degree Awarding Powers.
As a result of unprecedented interest and growth in the MSc / Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy training program We are pursuing one senior lecturer and three lecturers to join the teaching staff. There are part-time permanent and sessional appointments available, and the Institute is therefore looking for academics who wish to maintain client involvement in private practice or other clinical activity while undertaking this function.

About the function and Responsibilities
To be a key member of a team of academic and administrative colleagues facilitating the highest quality learning and teaching within the Institute. To support students through teaching, administration and academic advice. To work with the Director of Studies, Academic Director and colleagues to enhance and develop learning and teaching, academic processes and student results. Teaching on all modalities (with the exception of Humanistic) takes place across weekends. Each modality attends for one full weekend each month, over 10 months of the year (a total of 10 teaching weekends).
To contribute to and enhance teaching and learning on the training programme through:
   » Preparation and development of teaching materials.
   » leadership abilities, management and delivery of modules.
   » Assessment of student work, including setting and marking assignments, dissertations, case studies and vivas.
   » Development of innovative methods of teaching, learning, assessment and student academic support, including review and design.
   » contact closely with all staff to ensure quality teaching.
   » Monitoring and enhancement of the student practice and module/programme results.
   » To advise and guide students to support their progression and results, including tutorials and individual support where appropriate.

What We are seeking for
   » Postgraduate qualification in significant psychotherapy professional qualification
   » Registration with an appropriate professional body (E.g. UKCP, BACP).
   » practice of teaching/lecturing within a Higher Education setting
   » An knowledge of the higher education system
   » Teaching Qualification PG Cert HE (or equivalent qualification) and FHEA highly desirable
