Job Summary
We are actively seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our research team in the pivotal function of conducting evolutionary genomic analyses. This position offers a unique opportunity to delve into diverse genomic datasets, focusing on elucidating key insights into stress tolerance mechanisms in coconut palms and unravelling the complexities of sexual behaviour in monkeys.

tasks and responsibilities
   »Genomic Analyses: Your primary responsibility will entail conducting comprehensive genomic analyses of a varied array of coconut palm and macaque genomes.
   »Team leadership abilities: In addition to your analytical tasks, you will assume a leadership abilities function in supervising a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team comprising both PhD and Masters students. This pivotal position necessitates adept guidance, fostering collaborative synergies, and ensuring the seamless execution of our research objectives.
   »Publications: As a valued Research Associate, you will actively contribute to disseminating our ground-breaking research findings by co-authoring publications in high-impact, refereed journals, thereby fostering broader scholarly discourse and advancement in the field.
Essential requirements
You should:
   » Hold, or be near completion of, a PhD in evolution, ecology, genetics, or genomics.
   » Have a robust background in genomics, molecular biology, or a closely related field.
   » Demonstrated proficiency in analytical methodologies and research techniques.
   » Proven practice in leadership abilities functions within collaborative research environments.
   » Exceptional written and verbal communication expertise to effectively convey complex scientific concepts.

This is a full time, fixed term position until 31 December 2024, with possibility of extension subject to funding. You will be located at Silwood Park Campus.
Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as a Research adjunct.
