About the function
Part-Time function: 22 hours per week
Are you passionate about helping students kickstart their careers?
We are seeking for a work placement agent to join us in the Careers, Work practice & Progression team as part of the Student Life Directorate. We lead on activities and strategies which contribute to an outstanding student practice closely aligned with the college and group strategic objectives.
The work placement agent will be located at Quarry Hill, a blend of green scenery and modern architecture. It boasts specialist childcare training resources, digital technology labs, and industry-standard studios and theatres. With cutting-edge facilities and schools that pride themselves on industry links, Quarry Hill is unrivalled in the region. It's a mere 5 minute walk from the bus station.
Working with students studying in our Childcare, Health & Social Care & ESOL courses, employers and curriculum departments to support the prosperous completion ofwork placements. Working with the business engagement team & curriculum to ensure placements are allocated appropriately to students.
This is a part-time position. We can offer a degree of flexibility regarding how you fullfill these hours.Please state in your supporting statement what hours/days you are able to work.

What You Will Do
   » Support students prior to placements by identifying their expertise, qualities, interests and aspirations and matching them to appropriate work placements sourced by the business engagement team.
   » Delivering placement located sessions to students.
   » Supporting students to arrange pre-placement visits, agreeing expectations with students and employers.
   » Be a point of contact for both students and employers during the placement.
   » Managing your own caseload of students.
   » Undertake a range of general administration tasks relating to the function.
   » Be willing to travel across the Leeds City Region to support placements.
About You
   » knowledge of employcapability expertise needed for a work placement, and how to equip students with these expertise.
   » practice of working with young people in a group and one to one basis.
   » An capability to develop effective working relationships with young people, college staff, employers and other stakeholders.
   » Enthusiastic, positive and knowledge of students' needs. Initiative, self-motivation and the capability to persuade, influence and motivate others.
   » A availability to work flexibly both independently and as part of a team.
   » Would be desirable if you had an knowledge of 16-18 education and the T-Level agenda.
