Position: Seasonal adjunct Director Job location: YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth, Beausoleil Island Start Date: April 29, 2024 End Date: September 30, 2024 income: $765/week As part of your total compensation: • Receive a 1-year complimentary YMCA membership to our Health & Fitness facilities, and discounts on YMCA child care and camp programs • Be part of a caring and supportive network of people to help each other succeed • Complimentary access to wellness and counselling services In this function, you will: • Ensure the delivery of high quality participant practices that promote and reflect the YMCA core values and mission statement • Provide on-site leadership abilities to the everyday operation of camp during the entire operating season, as well as leadership abilities in the event of an emergency or crisis at camp • Assist in training, supporting, and supervising the CQE staff team all over the entire operating season • Ensure program facility and equipment are in compliance with existing Health & Safety regulations, general health standards and sound risk-management practices • continuing risk management and crisis response following YMCA procedures • Ensure excellence in all aspects of OE and summer programming and curriculum through active and thorough team support and continuing staff and program development. • Maintain a high level of camper care and safety at YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth. • Maintain strong external relationships valuable to the continuing success of camp • In the absence of the Camp Director, act as designate in managing all aspects of CQE operations • Be committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging • Embrace and exemplify the Y's core values Other Job Details: • This is a seasonal position and the prosperous candidate is required to live on site at YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth from late April to the end of September in rustic accommodations. Education and expertise Qualifications: • practice working with children, youth, and adults in a camp or outdoor education environment • Previous practice managing and supervising staff in a camp or outdoor education environment (minimum 2 years) • Exceptional communication expertise, relationship-building expertise, and organizational expertise • Valid CPR C/Standard First Aid • G Class Drivers License • National Lifeguard • Pleasure Craft Operator card • Wilderness Advanced First Aid (preferred) • Current clear Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening as per current YMCA human resource policy • Legally entitled to work in Canada To Apply: • Submit your cover letter, resume, and supporting documents via this application.
