Clinical expertise Technician (Dentistry):Job description:Job location: Devon, Plymouth The Peninsula Dental School are looking to appoint a proactive and enthusiastic individual to take on the function of Clinical expertise Technician. You will provide technical support within the Simulated Dental Learning Environments (SDLE) for the delivery of undergraduate teaching and assessment and will be an integral member of the technical team. You will be working alongside other technicians and will assist on the day-to-day tasks under the direction of the of the SDLE Senior Technician and Technical Manager. You will be line managed and supported by the SDLE Senior Technician. You will be required to prepare and maintain a variety of dental equipment and consumables and will be expected to interact with academic/clinical staff and students to assess and fulfil their requirements. It is not essential for you to have practice with dentistry, We are seeking for someone who is hard working, organised and has transferrable expertise that you can apply to the function. Outline the expertise and attributes that you are looking for from the candidate, such as: » consciousness of health and safety in the workplace » practice of working in a teaching /training environment (desirable) » expertise of Audio visual /Multimedia equipment set-up and maintenance. » Previous practice of work within healthcare or dentistry (desirable). » Previous practice of working with, and supporting student learning (desirable) » practice with Microsoft office package. Interviews are expected to take place face-to-face on Wednesday 22nd May 2024 at the Portland Square Building at the Univeristy of Plymouth and you will be notified if you have been shortlisted. There is an essential requirement within this function that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport. The function is located on main campus Plymouth, in the Portland Square Building. On occasions you may be required to travel to our other sites and this will include going to our Truro or Exeter campuses. Travel expenses will be covered outside of your main place of work. Normal working hours will be 8:30am - 5pm. On occasions you may be required to work outside these times, but you will be notified of this in advance.
