Job Opportunity: Lecturer in Geographical Information Science:Job description:Job location: Manchester Job reference: HUM-025319 income: £40,521 to £56,021 per annum, depending on significant practice Faculty/Organisational Unit: Humanities Job location: Oxford Road Job employment Type: Permanent Division/Team: Geography Hours Per Week: Full time Closing date: 02/05/2024 Contract Duration: Permanent starting 1st August 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter School/Directorate: School of Environment, Education & Development location_onGet directions This appointment forms part of an ambitious plan for further developing the research and teaching capacity in the Department of Geography. We are currently expanding both research and teaching activities in the field of Geographical Information Science and we would expect the prosperous application to contribute teaching in areas such as applied and theoretical GIS, remote sensing, spatial analysis and/or GIS software development. The appointee will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as undertake a range of administrative and pastoral tasks. The job description and person specifications for this lectureship can be found at the end of this document. Candidates will be asked to make a presentation on their research interests and teaching practice, and to outline how they will contribute to the department.
