Research adjunct:Job description:Job location: Belfast The School of Medicine, Dentistry & Biomedical Sciences (MDBS) at Queen's University Belfast, is currently seeking to recruit a talented Research adjunct. The prosperous candidate will join the infection biology team led by Prof Jose Bengoechea in the Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine. We focus on knowledge how antibiotic resistant infections counteract our defences to inform the development of novel treatments This position is a collaborative project with the company VaxDyn to develop new therapeutics against the human pathogen Klebsiella pneumoniae and it involves assessing the efficacy of functional antibodies in vitro and in vivo. This position is suited to a highly ambitious, productive, and collaborative individual. The prosperous candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria: » Degree in immunology, biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, or a significant biomedical science. » broad hands-on practice in at least two of the following: » Tissue culture. » Genetic modification of enteric pathogens. » Infection of cells with bacterial pathogens. » Western blotting, ELISAs and cell death assays. » Infection of the mouse model.
