Summary:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Mental Health Research Unit in the Division of Population Health.
We are seeking for a mental health researcher to support a 4-year programme of research funded by NIHR to develop and evaluate a co-produced for underrepresented young people (including those from deprived areas, LGBT+, autistic young people, ethnic minorities) experiencing depression and/or anxiety. The project is taking place in Oxford, Liverpool, Sheffield, Blackpool and Plymouth. A key aim of the programme is to explore how online arts and culture can be optimised to improve mental health in diverse young people.
You will recruit and interview participants using qualitative semi-structured interviews to refine the conceptual framework and help to refine the intervention. In later stages of the programme you will help to conduct a pilot randomised controlled trial and a definitive trial with process evaluation.
For this function, you will have:
   » practice and a commitment to working in inclusive ways with young adults with lived practice of mental health difficulties
   » practice of recruiting people with lived practice of mental health problems to research studies
   » practice of undertaking mental health research with young adults
   » Excellent communication, time management and organisations expertise
   » expertise and practice of qualitative mental health research, including interviewing, data analysis and report writing
