The opportunity
UAL Online is an exciting new division which has been established to enable access to the university's world leading creative arts education for audiences around the globe. We will be launching new fully online courses and exploring the future of creative education in the digital environment.
We are seeking for an engaged and organised individual with practice of undertaking institutional research. The prosperous candidate will work closely with the Dean of Academic Strategy (Online) to design and run research projects which inform the development of the academic offer and articulate future directions for teaching and creative practice online.
We are pursuing a candidate who understands how innovation works across technology and teaching to take a research informed approach to translating emerging technologies into the curriculum. this function will also facilitate a growing community of academics within, and beyond, UAL who are interested in creative education online.
This is a great opportunity to join a team at a globally recognised, creative university, pushing the boundaries of creative art and design education in a fully online environment.
About you
Knowledge and qualifications
   » Undergraduate degree, preferably in a significant Art and Design or Social Science or Digital Innovation subject.
   » In-depth knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods commonly applied in Higher Education contexts.
   » Good knowledge of the digital-creative technology landscape.
   » In-depth knowledge of research ethics and the management research data.
   » Good knowledge of the Higher Education sector, policies, and practices (teaching and learning, assessment and feedback), preferably in the context of art and design subjects.
   » Detailed knowledge of pedagogies and practices in online education at UK HE levels 4-7.
significant practice
   » Developing and running research projects which assess processes, practices and the culture of complex organisations and, preferably, educational provision.
   » Designing, promoting, and running events and activities to facilitate networks of professionals promoting and sharing innovate practice.
   » Managing digital innovation projects in educational contexts.
   » Creating and promoting outward facing engagement activities and materials.
   » Collecting, managing, and analysing qualitative and quantitative research data.
   » Contributing to the writing-up of reports and research.
   » Presenting and communicating research findings and significant outputs.
   » practice of teaching at university level (4-7) is desirable.
   » Keeping track of costs and budgets.
