The School of Law and Criminology is situated in the historic world heritage site of the Old Royal Naval College. The school is home to over 1300 students, studying on our undergraduate LLB, LLB Study Abroad, and LLB Senior Status programmes and our postgraduate LLM International and Commercial Law, as well as our suite of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Criminology. The school places the student practice at the heart of its approach to teaching and pastoral care.
We are seeking to recruit a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Criminology for a full-time one year fixed-term position (to cover a maternity leave). This vacancy offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed academic to complement our existing team by making an outstanding contribution to the teaching and research at the School of Law and Criminology in the University of Greenwich.
You will work closely with the dedicated Criminology team to help to continue the School of Law and Criminology's progress as a centre of teaching and research excellence. The prosperous candidates will be expected to deliver innovative teaching in a range of areas, primarily Forensic Criminology, Crime and Criminal Justice in a Globalised and Gendered World, and Drugs and Us.
You must be able to demonstrate a strong teaching profile and a proven commitment to the student practice, including supporting student's wellbeing. A PhD (or near completion) or an equivalent legal qualification is essential, as enthusiasm, and a commitment to play a full and active function in the life of the School of Law and Criminology.
