THE function :
IT Developer -Workday
IT SERVICES:
The primary focus of ITS is to support, improve and transform the way IT is utilised across the University of Hull. The service sits within the wider Infrastructure Services and is intended to ensure that digital technologies and digitalisation become ubiquitous across theinstitution;part of the same fabric and environmentprovidinga seamless digital practice across our whole estate.
Technology Services, where this function will sit, is a newdepartment within IT and is accountable for the ownership of the strategic platforms within the university.This new way of working for the university aims to drive consistency and governance around the continued iteration anddevelopment of technologies which span the entirety of the university. Examples include: the University's Data Exchange (UDX);Student Information Systems, ServiceNow, Salesforce and a new ERP.
The new function of SaaSIT Developer will be essentialto onboarding this critical platforminto the university. Currently in project mode, the function will initially work closely alongside our implementation partner to ensure that there is a core system knowledge, beforeultimately supportingtheserviceafter go-live.
The function willbe responsible fordesigning,developingand configuring solutions withinthe platformas part of a Product Team.
tasks AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Thefunction would suit a highly skilled IT Developer specialising in the design, configuration, and customisation of solutions within SaaS / Software as a Serviceplatforms. With a deep knowledge of IT service management processes, agilemethodologiesand broadskillsin SaaSscripting languages, it plays a crucial function in transforming business requirements into efficient and user-friendlyoutputs.
The function will create innovative solutions, configure workflowsand applications, and integrate various modules to streamline processes and enhance productivitythrough automation. The function mustpossessstrong analytical and problem-solving skills, ensuring that our intended ServiceNow implementations align perfectly with organisational needs. With a focus on continuous improvement, the post holder must stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, contributing to the optimisation of IT services and overall businessoperations.
