The University of Cambridge Sports Service is seeking a self-motivated and skilled administrator to join our friendly and vibrant Department.
The function holder will coordinate the administrative/office functions (including connected policies and procedures), HR systems and committee activities of the Sports Service. They will also act as an Executive adjunct for the Senior Management Team.
The function includes:
   » Reviewing and developing systems to support the effective administration of the Sports Service, liaising with line managers to support and monitor implementation. Managing central mailboxes and filing systems.
   » Performing HR administration tasks (e.g. contract amendment procedures, process and record leavers, leave requests, sickness, absence and staff review records). Coordinating recruitment administration, induction and probation processes and acting as the first point of contact for HR related queries.
   » Providing administrative support to committee secretaries, organising meetings, helping to prepare agendas, writing notes/minutes, assisting with the drafting of reports, proof reading documents and giving advice on matters of policy and procedure.
   » Providing administrative support to the Senior Management Team, organising meetings, drafting correspondence and proof reading documents.
candidates should have practice of coordinating office/administrative functions, developing administrative processes and standard operating procedures, and supporting committee secretaries and Senior Managers. They should also have practice of HR procedures, including use of recruitment and HR systems. They should be educated to HND or HNC level, hold a level 4/5 vocational qualification, or have the equivalent practical practice.
The function holder will need excellent administrative, clerical, IT and communication expertise (verbal and written) and be able to work proactively using their own initiative to prioritise work.
