About us:
The Faculty of Arts & Humanities is looking to appoint an outstanding candidate with practice of business operations administration to this varied and compensateing function, part of a small and collaborative team within a wider and diverse professional services team supporting the academic departments in Humanities: Classics, History, Philosophy and Theology & Religious Studies.

About the function:
The prosperous applicant will report to the Business Operations Manager and will work closely with them, the wider Business Operations team and the significant central University services to support operations within the Humanities departments and the Faculty.
The Senior Business Operations agent plays a key part in the following day-to-day operations: finance and resource management, procurement, human resources, estates and space, health and safety, and other projects around space provision, the allocation of teaching resources, etc. The function also provides a high level of customer service support in collaboration with key stakeholders in the Faculty and central service teams.
The prosperous applicant will be a proactive person with excellent interpersonal expertise and the capability to build good working relationships with colleagues across the College and externally. They will be highly organised and numerate, with strong written and verbal communication expertise, practice of working on improvement initiatives, strong collaborative team working expertise, and a proactive and positive can-do attitude. They will be expected to be well-versed in the systems and processes underpinning business operations.
This is currently offered as a hybrid function, and the function holder will be eligible to spend part of their working week on campus and part of the week working remotely.
This post will be offered on a full-time, indefinite contract.
About you:

Essential criteria
   » Demonstrable professional practice of effective and efficient administrative operations (preferably in an academic environment, research, charity, or other not for profit environment).
   » Excellent interpersonal expertise, able to interact with a wide variety of people in a professional and assured manner.
   » Excellent expertise using technology and IT (including a broad range of software applications, especially Microsoft suite of programs and intermediate/advanced use of Excel) and an interest in expanding and improving these.
   » Excellent written and spoken communication expertise including appropriate use of English in formal documents, professional emails, minutes, and confidence in corresponding with internal and external stakeholders.
   » practice of budgetary and financial administrative processes (eg: raising purchase orders, invoicing, reconciliation, payments), with strong numeracy and data analysis expertise, demonstrating accuracy and a high degree of attention to detail.
   » Excellent organizational expertise with the capability to manage time effectively, work flexibly and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and to multi-task to work to competing deadlines in a busy work environment.
   » Demonstrable commitment to continuous improvement, reviewing processes and propose improvements, with an capability to identify and address potential operational problems/inefficiencies.
   » An enthusiastic and flexible team player with a proactive, ?can do' attitude.
