Job Responsibilities» Support City staff in designing and undertaking comprehensive and effective outreach and marketing, including in person and virtual engagement strategies. » Engage in two-way conversations with residents that will increase consciousness of City projects and gather important feedback and concerns that will help inform and shape City initiatives. » Provide support with translation as required or appropriate. » Prepare presentations, speaking and briefing notes, and develop other related materials as requested. » Make presentations to residents and community groups. » Demonstrate commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression and human rights through practices and interactions with community partners, employees, and individuals and support programs and initiatives that reflect this commitment. » Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Health and Safety legislation and programs; actively promote a culture of safety. » Attend evening and weekend functions/events, as required. » Perform other related tasks as assigned. Qualifications:» Grade 12 or higher education or equivalent combination of education and related professional and lived community practice. » A Vulnerable Sector Police Screening required prior to starting work » G2 or G Driver's License » Access to a vehicle to transport equipment up to 20 pounds and travel to parks and facilities all over London (mileage is reimbursed) expertise and Abilities:» Written and oral fluency in English and one of the following Required languages Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai or Vietnamese. » Excellent interpersonal expertise with the capability to seek and form new relationships. » practice with community engagement and outreach » expertise of issues impacting equity seeking populations (including anti-oppression, anti-discrimination, decolonization, anti-racism, xenophobia, ableism, etc.) » Fosters an environment where people feel welcomed and included. » Preference for people who live in London and have existing community connections. » Excellent customer service expertise » Proficient with social media platforms » Strong effective verbal and written, communication, facilitation, and presentation expertise. » Motivated self-starter and willing to take initiative. » Creative, confident, positive, and enthusiastic » A availability to embrace inclusion, empowerment, and transparency. » Able to work independently with minimal supervision and make independent judgments located on a variety of situations. Other Information:» This is a part-time, contract position for up to 20 hours per week. » Shift availcapability varies depending on community engagement opportunities. The number of shifts available in a week fluctuate from no shifts to up to 20 hours.
