About the function
We are seeking for a postdoctoral researcher to work in Translational Research Immunology Group (TRIG) on translational, collaborative project funded by EU. You will be placed in the Institute of Developmental and Regenerative Medicine on the Old Road Campus working in a close collaboration with the Oxford Kidney Pathology group.

You will be part of a bigger EU-funded project which goal is to develop a safe and efficient cell therapy located on genome edited T cells for IgA nephropathy (IgAN). IgAN is the most common glomerulonephritis; IgA-rich complexes are deposited in renal glomeruli, leading to renal failure a third of cases, but there are currently no effective treatments, so this an area of significant unmet need. Redirected T cells offer the potential to specifically target pathogenic IgA1 producing cells.

You will work closely with members of TRIG and Oxford Kidney Pathology groups, including students, other post-docs and research adjuncts as well as international collaborators within the EU consortium. You will be responsible for testing T cell therapeutics developed by our consortium, using in vivo models of glomerular immune complex disease as well as the establishment of a novel model for IgA Nephropathy. Additionally, you will contribute to spatial transcriptomics and proteomics in human IgAN kidney samples.

About you
You will hold a PhD (or be near to completion: thesis submitted) in a significant area at the time of application and will have broad practice in immunology or kidney disease field. practice with cell culture techniques, animal models, molecular techniques is required. You will have demonstrated the capability to work independently within projects, with the capability to communicate results clearly and succinctly in presentations, manuscripts and grant applications. practice with flow cytometry and genetic editing techniques as well as expertise of kidney disease are desirable.
