Job Opportunity: School Manager:Job description:Job location: Norwich Starting income from£36,333per annum, dependent on expertise and practice, with an annual increment up to£43,155per annum An exciting opportunity has arisen for a School Manager to join the Norwich Medical School towork in partnership with the Head of School and other academic leaders to ensure that the strategic and operational objectives set out by the School are achieved. This is a function encompassing a wide variety of topics within the lifecycle of both the School and the Faculty. Key areas of focus include: financial forecasting, budget setting, and budgetary management; assisting with teaching planning; resource management and a central function in the School's workload modelling and management activities; process monitoring and process development to ensure the School is able to engage with other units within the University (e.g. Learning and Teaching Service, Careers Central, Research and Innovation); leadership abilities of Faculty Professional Services (FPS) colleagues and maintaining a leadership abilities function within the School Executive. It's a function that covers the full range of activities that enables a School to function and ensures that the business and administrative requirements of the School are met. School Managers also take on Faculty wide projects that are related to vital moments in the academic cycle, such as Welcome Week, developments in teaching, research, and employcapability such as curriculum review, research ethics, and placement provision. In addition they undertake projects within the FPS group that include development, culture, and wellbeing, such as upskilling IT expertise and mentoring. You will have a degree or equivalent qualification orpracticein a similarfunction. practice of recruiting, inducting and managing staff, managing budgetsand developing processes are essential. You will also have project managementpractice, be able to problem solve and analyse and translate data. consciousness of the Higher Education sector would be advantageous.
