An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research Associate join the School of Computingtoconduct studies onhybrid guidance system for cardiac interventional procedures.
About the project
Funded by EPSRC, as part of a project led by Dr YingLiang Ma, you will develop a robust and universal computer vision framework to segment key objects and create 3D models from real-time X-ray fluoroscopic images (video data).
The project aims to develop a series of deep convolutional neural networks and visual transformers using probably the largest X-ray image database in UK for cardiac surgeries and the start-of-art GPU cluster. The project also involves the development of automatic MR segmentation algorithms for scar images.
About you
You will have a postgraduate level research degree, equivalent qualification or practice in computer sciences, mathematics or physics.
You will also have practice of independentresearch, have publications in respected journals or conferences (e.g. MICCAI)and be able to work in a proactive and results driven manner in a high paced environment.
You will have stronginterpersonaland communicationexpertise, with the capability to analyse and interpret data and work effectively as part of a team. Advanced expertise in python programming, mathematicalexpertise and implementation of CNN or Transformers is essential.

This full-time post is available from 1 July 2024 on a fixed term basis for 15 months.
