The function
The Department of Communications, Drama and Film seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Film / Screen Practice to join our team of exceptional academics to complement and extend our research and teaching activities. The prosperous applicant will have a strong track record of publication outputs and will undertake research and impact activities in line with the University's research strategy.
The post will include teaching on the undergraduate Film and Television Studies degree, the MA in Film and Screen Studies, the MA in International Film Business, and other developing taught postgraduate provision, and supervision of postgraduate research students.
You will join a dynamic, interdisciplinary department with world-class facilities such as the Bill Douglas Cinema Museum, excellent links to cultural industry partners including the London Film School, and a commitment to innovative approaches to creative learning and cutting-edge research. We have particular strengths in the study of transnational cinema, gender and the creative industries, archives and audiences, performance, and regional cinema culture, and a developing focus on screen cultures and environmental sustaincapability.
About you
You will have:
   » A PhD in Film /Screen Practice and have an independent, internationally-recognised research or research-by-practice programme in a significant active field of research
   » A strong record in attracting funding for research, or demonstrate potential to attract such funding
   » An active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research
   » Enthusiasm for delivering high quality undergraduate programmes
   » Strong connections and funded projects with business and community partners
   » Involvement in projects which develop impact
