Experimental agent (Instrumentation):Job description:Job location: Edinburgh Open-ended Full time: 35 hours per week The opportunity: The FloWave facility became operational in 2014 and has hosted research projects for a wide variety of academic and commercial users. The post-holder is expected to work closely with these clients and FloWave team to implement a variety of instrumentation and data-acquisition processes, including video motion tracking, simulated drivetrains, and structural monitoring. Working alongside FloWave's dedicated team, the function will also involve assisting in the operational, maintenance and continual improvement of the state-of-the-art facility itself. this function is UE06 and is available on an open-ended contract. Your expertise and attributes for success: » An undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Electronics (or a closely related subject). » Practical experiment of working with sensor systems and/or communications systems significant to instrumentation (e.g. EtherCAT). » Capable of working independently, exercising a high degree of initiative and demonstrating a pro-active and flexible approach to work. » Capable of working collaboratively with researchers from different disciplines or technical background. » Good communication expertise; oral, writing and presentation of data.
