Leeds Beckett University has a great opportunity to deliver an exciting and innovative expertise Transfer Partnership (KTP) project to develop and embed a Supply Chain Engagement Toolkit, ultimately increasing the depth and breadth of contracting SMEs engaged in public procurement within the construction sector.
Working with YORhub, a collaboration of Leeds City, Sheffield City, North Yorkshire and East Riding of Yorkshire Councils, the KTP project will fulfil their strategic aim to address national challenges of supply chain engagement by increasing the number and diversity of engaged SMEs, resulting in increased efficiency and service delivery in this sector.
The prosperous candidate will work with teams across YORhub and key stakeholders and have the support of an outstanding multi-disciplinary academic team from Leeds Beckett University.
You will work at the front end of the lifecycle to develop supply chain insights and strategies that build innovate and diverse supply chain solutions. Current supply chain practices and processes will be examined, with an intent to enhance the existing digital platform. Ultimately functional improvements will be identified and embedded, enhancing delivery from the supply chain across the construction industry.
The function presents the prosperous candidate with wide-ranging practice and an excellent development opportunity to lead a project across a range of business functions, working with a range of internal and external stakeholders. There is genuine potential to be employed by YORhub post-project.
We need an enthusiastic, self-motivated person bringing not only a Bachelor's degree (2.1 or higher) in Business Management / Supply Chain Management / Project or Construction Management or similar with project management capabilities in order to manage a multi-faceted project. A strong analytical background is required, with the capability to a culture of innovation to develop the optimal solution for YORhub and their stakeholders.
You will be well supported by academic experts at Leeds Beckett and colleagues at YORhub but you need to be curious, excited about the project challenges and prepared to involve yourself in all aspects of a business.
This will be a challenging function and for the right candidate will present an excellent opportunity to make a tangible difference to the business, grow their own skill set and practice and with a very realistic chance of permanent employment at the end of the project.
The project provides dedicated budgets to support training and development (£2k pa) alongside opportunities to access the university's pension scheme, staff benefits and discounts, staff training and development programmes as well as high level support from expert Leeds Beckett academics. The university also offers candidates the opportunity to study for a higher degree (MRes, MPhil or PhD) with a fee waiver in place.
There is a travel and subsistence budget included in the project.
